National Child Abuse Prevention Month

It’s April, an important month when it comes to child abuse. In 1983, April was officially declared by presidential proclamation as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Whether you wear blue or “plant” pinwheels on your school or organization’s grounds to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect prevention, it’s important to take time to promote children and families this month.

Schools and organizations are encouraged to promote abuse prevention across all lines of communication, including social media, websites, and newsletters. Share strategies and activities that highlight child safety, reinforce child and youth protection policies, and educate your organization and community about your commitment to protecting the young people within its walls.
